Bikepacking

Since 2017, I've bikepacked various routes across the US, Australia, and Europe. Find the links below for the articles and images.

The 5200 mile Poop Loop

Australia

From March to June of '24, I rode across Australia while mixing in a couple of long hikes to cap off a thorough excursion into the heart of Australia. It had been a dream of mine as a kid to see the Outback. So, when I started off from Sydney, little did I imagine how the Outback would effect me. From Sydney I rode to Canberra and then Melbourne using some bikepacking routes. From Melbourne I picked my way across the rugged southern coastline and inland below the Goiter Belt of southern Australia to Adelaide. From Adelaide I rolled on the Mawson Trail which I eventually connected to the isolated and rugged roads of the Outback. From Oodnadatta, I found my way across the western edge of the Simpson Desert and eventually hammered into Uluru and Alice Springs. There, I hiked the Larapintia Track and afterwards finished up the bikepacking adventure by cruising northward to Darwin which ended the ~5000 mile bikepacking journey. From Darwin I flew to Perth and took a bus to Albany where I would hike the Bibbulmun Track. Once back in Perth, I began the long flight home to the U.S.

One of my favorite adventures to say the least. I just loved it, simply said. Below are the chapters of the OZ adventure. Enjoy, mate!

Lisbon to Geneva and across Southern Spain and Andalusia, some 2200 miles
